The line graph illustrates the proportion of US familise owning various technological devices over a period of four years, commencing from 1995.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that the percentage of families used the phone had a gradual increase, while other devices had a slightly increase over the period.
Looking first at the most popular technologies, washing machine remained the most common item through out the period from 60% to 80% over four years. Thereafter, the second position is computer with 40% at the beginning of the period. Conversely, at the end of the period the proportion of families used the computer account with 70%, standing in the third place. Finally, the families used DVD player tend to go down, from 25% in 1995 to 15% in 1996. But the percentage of families owning the DVD player had an increase to 40% at the end of the period.
Turning to the remaining categories, the percentage of families used the phone had a significantly upward trend from about 18% at the beginning of the period to 75% in 1999. Lastly, the proportion of families owning the internet increased from 10% in 1995 to 50% at the end of the period.
