This line graph illustrates the population count of two of the largest countries from the year 2000 to 2020, with projected counts until 2050.
In the beginning of the 21st century, the number of Indian citizens was about 1 billion, which has been constantly increasing and reached 1.4 billion in the years. This trend is seen to continue to increase, not only overtaking China but also reaching 1.6 billion in 2050.
In contrast, China’s populace was rather high, at more than 1.2 billion in 2000. Then it rose steadily until today. From the data, Chinese residents will reach an all-time high in 2030, which is almost equal to that of India’s, and then slowly decrease to just under 1.4 billion by 2050.
To conclude this essay, both countries’ populations has been increasing rapidly, and after the year 2030, India’s population will continue to rise, whereas China’s population will start to decline.
