Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that road transport was the most consumed kind of delivery whereas pipeline vehicles was the lowest modes during the given time period . In contrast , while the figure for waterways increased significantly , the figure for rail traffic slipped downwards.

At the beginning of the period road transportation was around 70 million tones , after which it fluctuated noticeably before rose slightly in the end of the year. When it comes to pipeline transport figures , delivery went up steadily from amount of 5 million tons to about 22 million tons.

Consequently , waterways consumption was increased sharply to amount of 58 million tons in 1978 , afterwards maintained the same level of transportation before grew considerably. However , the quantity of transported goods by railroad oscillating by 20 million tons over a ten year period and flattened out at 40 million tons in the end of the year.
