The line graph illustrates the percentage of the amount of people aged 65 and over in Japan,Sweden,USA since 1940,and forecastes trends until 2040.Unites are measured in percentage.
Overall,it can be seen that there were various changes in this given time period.The proportion of aged people who were 65 and over were between 5 to 10 precen.This data kept on increasing in the USA and Sweden.In contrast it was decreased in Japan between 1940 to just above 1980.But after 2020 there are expected that the proportion of population aged over 64 will have dramatically grow in these three countries.
At the beginning (1940),there was a less percentage of older people living in Japan than USA(just below 10%) and Sweden(around 7%).Since 1940 to 1985,Japan was the youngest country in these three countries,but from 1986 to just above 2020 there was a slightly increase and it is projected that in 2024 the amount of aged people will reach above 25%.
USA’s proportion began the rate just below 10%. There was a slightly rose over the 40 years,then from just above 1980 to 2020 it was gently decrease to around 15% ,and it is expected to be achieve to about 23% in 2024.Similarly,in Sweden,the percentage of aged people rose from around 7% in 1940.Then there was three times increase between1940 to 2010.In the end, it is projected almost the same trend as the USA.
