The chart illustrates how the number of students from three different countries changed from 2002 to 2007.
Overall, the US had the greatest number of students over the period, while the opposite was true for Australia. While the number of pupils in the United States of America and the United Kingdom experienced more changes, the figure for students from Australia stayed unchanged.
The US and, more notably, the UK exhibited noticeable changes in their figures. Initially standing at approximately 50,000, the US had the greatest number of pupils. The number of students from America experienced a decline to around 46,000 in 2004 before undergoing a rise to 50,000 students in 2007. However, the figure for the UK showed a comparatively different picture. The number of students from the UK plateaued at 30,000 between 2002 and 2003, and then decreased significantly to 21,000 in 2007. This decline was the most dramatic change shown in the graph.
The figure for Australian students, on the other hand, remained stable. Australia began with 10,000 pupils and showed no change throughout the period.
