Looking from a overall perpective, it is clear that there were rapid changes in the amount of money spent by the visitors over the period of 30 years. In 1980, foreigners disposed around 8000 millon pounds but a quick decline of 1000 millon pounds occured at the middle of 1980 to 1985. From then on, the figures increased with fluctations until 1990, when the tourist expenditure reached its first peak at 10000 millon pounds. Another sharp decline happened in next 3 years, however it hit the highest point around 1996 when the UK earned 12000 millon pounds. After that, gradually the disposal of money reduced in 2003 and again rebounded at 11000 millon pounds in 2006.
If we look at the pie charts, we understand that the most people come to the UK for spending their holidays, although the percentages slightly decreased by 5% in 30 years. Business and visiting close ones were other two factors influencing visitors to come to UK. In 1980, around 18.7% of the foreigners came for trading purposes however it grew by 10% in 2010. Furthermore, in 2010, 22.8% people came to visit their near and dear ones but the percentage did not increase much over the time period. Interestingly, the fraction of visitors coming for other purposed decreased 1.7 times in 2010.
