The graphs below illustrate the money spent in the UK by foreign visitors, between 1980 and 2010, by a line graph and the reasons for visit UK, comparing the first and last year of the period, using a pie chart.
We can observe that money spent by overseas visitors increased between 1980 and 2010. Regarding the reasons for visit (holiday, business, visiting friends and relatives or other) in both years the main reason was for holiday.
In respect of the line graph, the money spent by visitors reached 12,000 milions pounds between 1995 and 2000. The lower mount spent, was between 1980 and 1985, and it was lower than 7,500 milions pounds.
Respecting to the pie chart, the percentage of people visited UK for holiday, decrease from 44.1% (1980) to 39.1% (2010). Also, the percentage of “visiting friends or relatives” reason’s, decreased from 28.2% (1980) to 18.7% (2010). Regarding business, the percentage maintained quite similar, 20.7% (1980) and 22.8% (2010).
