The follow figure defines the numerical value of foreigners who came to UK for varrying purposes between 1989 and 2009.

As shown in the line graph, UK seemed to be a favorable location for people seeking for holidays as it appears to be the leading reason throughout the years. Additionaly, the porportion of visitors who traveled to the UK for business do not differ too much from that of people who came to visit their friends and famiy.

In 1989, holiday is presented as the main reason for the tourists with around 6.5 million people. In contrast, there were only under 4 million individuals with the objective to visit their loved ones which stood as the group with the lowest number. Approaching near 1994, both of the lines which represent millions who came to spend their holidays and millions of which arrived to visit friends and family moderately soared. On the other hand, the number of work trips appeared to decrease by about a million.

When observed further into the latter years, a gradual increase of all three criterias can be noted. Moreover, their numbers gave the simlilar status in 2004 with around 5 million.
