These two line graphs show the subscriptions to mobile and fixed phones in four different countries between 2005 and 2015. Eritrea, India, UK, and Uruguay are the countries that have been compared in these two graphs.
It is evident that compared to the mobile phone subscription chart, the fixed telephone subscription chart shows a much more stable data. In the mobile phone chart, UK has been the most consistent, while maintaining over 100 subscriptions over the 10 years. Uruguay has shown a dramatic increase in mobile phone subscriptions over the 10 years. While India has increased its mobile phone subscriptions from 0 to well above 50 over the years, they have dipped a bit when it comes to fixed telephone subscriptions. In the fixed telephone chart, each country hasn’t fluctuated as much.
After observing and evaluating these two line charts, a common conclusion that we could make is that countries are stepping towards mobile phone subscriptions more and stepping away from fixed telephone subscriptions. This might be mainly because of the technology advancements.
