Overall, it is clear that Milton experienced significant urban development during this period. The amount of residential and commercial infrastructure increased, while natural areas and open spaces were reduced.

In 1980, the western side of the river contained several public facilities. A school was situated in the north-west corner, with a bank located below it. A hospital was positioned near the centre, while a playground occupied the northern area. There was also an area of trees in the south-west. On the eastern side of the river, there was a park and golf course, houses, and a small number of shops.

By 2012, many changes had taken place. The playground was replaced by flats, while the area of trees was converted into a technopark. The houses on the eastern side were also replaced with flats, showing an increase in accommodation facilities. In addition, the shops in the south-east corner were developed into a supermarket. However, the school, bank, hospital, and river remained unchanged throughout the period.
