Band 6+: The map presented delineates the changes occurred in a small town located in the western region of Ireland from 2000 to present day. Overall, the map meticulously illustrates how the various areas of the village are used in the past and present. Primarily, the town is transformed into more developed residential locality with the establishment of new buildings. Moreover, the market facing sea-side is extented with numerous food chains and farmland is modified into a diverse park.

The maps below illustrate the considerable transformation the small village went through from the year 2000 up until now.

Overall, there was significant development of the village over these years and it was eventually converted into a large residential area.

The most conspicuous change is the presence of park in the current time instead of farmland back in 2000. A new road was built to the east of the farmland, and the road to the south-east of farmland was extended. In response to the growing population , many houses were built, three times the previous number of houses.

While the shopping centers to the south of farmland and hotel to the south-east of farmland remained untouched , markets were replaced by restaurants . There, situated to the south of the market, used to be a dock which can’t be seen at present. In addition,placed to the east of the hotel new carpark was constructed at present, which was another notable change.
