The two maps compare a bookstore as it appeared in 2000 with its modern-day layout.
Overall, while the general structure has remained, the bookstore has been restructured with the addition of new service facilities and the relocation of several sections.
In 2000, the central-left part of the store consisted of a travel section and a new books area, which was to the right of an entrance located on the left wall. Meanwhile, a service desk was located at the lower-left corner. There was a large area for fiction, which stretched from the top to the right-hand side of the layout, while three smaller sections for hobbies, cookery, and art were located above the non-fiction area, which was positioned in the bottom-right corner.
At present, the travel, new books and service desk area have remained unchanged. However, the large section for fiction has been reduced in size and relocated to the upper right, while art and cookery have been moved to the upper left and upper middle parts of this section, respectively, vacating their former space to a new table and chairs. The non-fiction area has been moved to the right-hand side, making room for a coffee shop.
