The maps show how the Spanish city of Castellón has improved in recent times with better infrastructure and facilities between 2000 and now.
One area that has seen big improvements is transportation. A new tramline was built connecting the city center with the university. A new train station has been constructed in the north of the city center. Moreover, a bike rental scheme has appeared in the city center. One interesting change is that the old train station has been converted into a police station. To the right, the university has built a new hall of residence. Another striking change is that an old building in the west of the city has been knocked down to make way for a new shop. The northeast of the city used to have a lot of trees, but they were cut down to build a new shopping center. A new airport, located next to the tramline, is also being built; a brand new covered market has also opened behind the airport.
In the south, the city has changed completely; the port area has become pedestrianized since 2000; and a variety of entertainment facilities, such as bars, clubs, or cinemas, have also been newly built.
