Overall, the Harborne town went through several significant changes over the examined period, the most important of which were the emergence of new accommodation, recreational infrastructure and numerous shops.
There used to be a cycle path located in the southwest of the town in 1936, but it was then redeveloped into a new road, while two out of three trees in the northwest were cut down after 7 decades, making this area more vacant. Meanwhile, the river bank in the northeast of the town was turned into a large residential area in 2007.
The southeastern part of the town also saw a number of changes, with the government offices being transformed into a museum and the agricultural land being converted into a golf course. Similarly, there was a whole new shopping center built in the middle of the town, and a supermarket next to it was also erected at the expense of the candy store and butchers. No changes were made to the post office, the bank and the library in the center, while the flower shop was demolished to give way to a new travel agent.
