The maps illustrate the changes that took place in Shalton village between 1910 and 2010.
Overall, the village experienced significant changes and became more residential with the construction of new houses. Some areas were replaced, while others remained unchanged.
Looking at the details in the first map, there were three roads that formed triangular shape, school road on the west side of the village, London road on the east side of the village, and high street on the south side. On the school road there were a school, a church and a houses, on the south, middle and north sides of the road. On the London road there was only post office in north part of it. Finally, on High street, there were two houses in the eastern corner and western corner of it. Turning to triangular area, which was surrounded by these roads, there was a large tree which was surrounded by little trees at the top of this are. There was a grocery store in the southwest corner of this area and a bakery in the western corner with house between them.
In 2010 there were significant changes that took place in the Shalton village. The church and houses were replaced by a community centre and a bank, respectively both of which were located on the school road. On Londan road new houses were built, which ran from northern to southern side of the road. On High road, three additional houses were constructed between the existing houses. As for triangular area, there were a significant changes within it. All vegetations were cut down and were replaced by new houses. The grocery store was demolished and replaced by new café. The same had happened with bakery it was replaced by two new houses. The other parts of village remained unchanged.
