The two maps illustrate the layout of an art gallery in 2005 and at the present time, highlighting the changes that have taken place over the years.
Overall, the gallery has undergone a considerable transformation. While the three exhibition rooms, the entrance, the reception desk and the staircase have been retained, several new facilities have been introduced, including a gallery shop, a lift, a temporary exhibition area, a children’s area, a vending machine and a wheelchair ramp. In contrast, the café and the gallery office have been removed.
In 2005, the entrance was located at the bottom centre of the gallery, leading directly to a reception desk. The staircase was positioned at the top centre, with Exhibition Rooms 1, 2 and 3 arranged along the right-hand side and Exhibition Room 4 occupying the lower left section. A café was situated in the upper left corner, while the gallery office was directly beneath it.
At present, the overall arrangement of the exhibition rooms remains unchanged. However, the former café has been converted into a gallery shop, and a vending machine has been installed immediately below it. The previous gallery office has been replaced by a temporary exhibition area, while the lower left section now serves as a children’s area. Furthermore, a wheelchair ramp has been added at the entrance to improve accessibility, and a lift has been constructed adjacent to the staircase, making the gallery more convenient for visitors
