the maps illustrate the development that occurred on the ground floor of a library between 2001 and 2009.

overall, the plan followed a significant transformation throughout the surveyed period. while the most remarkable changes included the addition of several kinds of books and the appearance of technological devices, the southern section of this library remained unchanged.

looking at detail, at the centre of the library’s ground floor, all square tables were replaced by rectangle tables, whereas the section for newspapers and periodicals was removed for the location of films and DVDs. computers were allocated under this section. furthermore, the fiction section was demolished to make way for children’s books and children’s area.

moving west, the ground floor recorded the addition of fiction, kitchen, economics and law books in lieu of just self-help and history categories. librarian’s desk, entrance and stairs which were situated in the south stayed unchanged throughout the given period.
