The pie chart illustrates the energy generation from five different types of fuel in two separate years, 2014 and 2018.
In general, the proportion of energy manufactured from renewables experienced an upward trend, while coal and nuclear showed the reverse. Notably, energy generation from oil and other, as well as from gas remained stable throughout the period. It is also clear that gas accounted for the largest share, whereas oil and other remained at the bottom.
Renewables followed a rising pattern. In 2014, 15% of energy was produced from renewables, a proportion that then increased even further to 26.2% by 2018. As for oil and other, along with gas, the figures for them stood at 4% and 30.1%, respectively. The percentages for both types of fuel remained unchanged over time, maintaining their initial positions.
Coal and nuclear bucked the foregoing trend. The former started at 28.4%, which declined considerably 18.1% by the end. Meanwhile, the latter saw its figure drop from 22.5% in 2014 to 21.6% by 2018.
