Social security accounted for the largest share at AED 100 billion. Health and personal social services came second with AED 53 billion, while education received AED 38 billion. Debt interest and other expenditures were both at AED 23 billion.
Defence spending stood at AED 22 billion, slightly ahead of law and order (AED 17 billion) and housing and environment (AED 15 billion). The smallest portions of the budget went to industry, agriculture and employment (AED 13 billion), and transport (AED 9 billion).
