The two pie charts show the information about the proportion of the population divided by age groups in percentage terms in two countries, Oman and Spain, in 2005, along with predictions for 2055.
Overall, it is evident that adults over 60 years old constituted the majority of the residents in both Spain and Oman in 2005, then in 2055 it is predicted that this part of the residents in Oman will be more than half of the total population, while in Spain, on the contrary, it will become less.
It is noticable that in Oman the part of the adult population over 60 years old in 2005 was 48%, equal to the percentage of teenagers under 14 years old, and it is predicted that in 2055 the part of adults will significantly exceed the other two parts of the population, becoming 57%. And the generation between 15-59 years old was a minority, making up only 4%.
By 2005, the eldest part of the population of Spain had been 62%, which is predicted to decrease by almost one third and become 46% in 2055. In contrast, residens aged 15-59 years almost doubled from 24% to 42%. However, the share of minors under 14 years of age, as it was the smallest, remained the same, having increased slightly from 12% to 14%.
