The pie charts illustrate a comparison of five types of energy production (coal, gas, nuclear, petro, and others) in France for the years 1995 and 2005, with units measured in percentages.
Overall, in both years, coal made up the largest portion of energy production, while “others” constituted the smallest portion. Additionally, the share of petro decreased, whereas the other four types of energy increased.
In 1995, the coal sector accounted for 29.80% of energy production in France and experienced a slight growth of around 1.1% by 2005. At the beginning of the period, nuclear and other energy production comprised 6.40% and 4.90% of the pie chart, respectively, and these figures rose to 10.10% and 9.10% in 2005.
On the other hand, the gas sector, which showed the smallest growth throughout the period, was at 29.63% in 1995 and increased by about 0.7% over ten years. Furthermore, petro, which comprised almost a quarter of France’s energy production in 1995, fell to 19.55% in 2005.
