The pie charts reveal the results of a survey into what are the advantageous and disadvantageous aspects of Bowen Island, according to tourists.
In general, there are four positive and four negative features of Bowen Island, among which the high cost of living is the most common complaint, while the local people are the most praised feature.
As for aspects visitors complained about, the most popular (50%) is the view that staying on the island is too expensive. By contrast, exactly a quarter of the tourists are dissatisfied with the local entertainment facilities. Weather and quality of food are also included in the list of negative features, but they account for significantly lower percentages, with the former making up 15% of the chart, and the latter making up 10%.
With regard to what tourists enjoy, the local people are clearly the most popular element with 42% of all votes. Many visitors, 35% to be precise, also enjoy the scenery, making it the second most liked component. The other two elements that make visitors’ stay better are the local culture (12%) and good accommodation (11%). Interestingly, despite not being happy with the costs of living, over one-tenth of visitors still like the housing they are provided with.
