With regard to the advantages, the most notable feature is the friendliness of the local people, which accounts for 42% of all responses. This is closely followed by the island’s scenery, appreciated by 35% of tourists, making it the second most valued aspect. Although good accommodation and local culture were also mentioned as positive features, they were less preferred compared to other aspects, with 12% and 11% of visitors citing these as advantages, respectively.
As for the disadvantages, the most commonly mentioned drawback is the high cost of living, making up half of the responses at 50%. This suggests that tourists find staying on Bowen Island to be particularly expensive. Other notable disadvantages include limited entertainment options, comprising 25%. The weather and food quality were also seen as negative aspect, but to a lesser extent, with the weather accounting for 15% complaints, with the food quality being the least concerning at 10%.
