The pie charts give information about the contribution of five fuels sources to the total electricity production in France in the years 1990 and 2010.
Overall, there was a downward trend in nearly all categories- coal, oil, natural gas and hydro power, with the exception of nuclear power across both years.
In1990, natural gas and coil were main fuel sources in France, both producing 28% of the total electricity production, followed by oil at 22%. Nuclear power ranked third in this category with 17%. Hydro power stood out as the source that has the lowest figure , representing only 6%.
As for changes, in 2010, there was a decrease of 24% in the share of natural gas. Similarly, the proportion of coal in 1990 accounted for 28% and the category almost halved in 2010. The percentage of hydro power also experienced a slight decline of 4%. Nuclear power , on the other hand stood out as the only source that grew from 17% in 1990 to 67% and remained as the highest figure in 2010.
