The pie charts below depict the production of electricity by five different fuel sources, in Astralia and France, in 1980 and 2000.
Overall, in both countries, the total production of electricity has a upward trend during these years.
In Australia, coal is the primary source for production of electricity, and it’s amount has a significant increase, from 50 units in 1980 to 130 units in 2000. Also, the contribution of hydro power has a slight increase, from 20 units to 36 units. Conversely, the amount of generated power by oil and natural gas, have been dereased. The total production of power was 100 units in 1980, but it has a notable rise and reaching 170 units in 2000.
On the other hand, in France, the total amount of generated power has doubled during this period. It was 90 units in 1980 and reaching 180 units in 2000. In 1980, coal and natural gas produced the same amount of electricity, about 25 units, and oil generated 20 units. Whereas, in 2000, the highest contribution belongs to nuclear power, about 126 units. Conversely, hydro power was in charge of the least generated electricity in both years.
