The pie charts below compare the comparison of various types of energy production in France during the period between 1995 and 2005. Overall, it can be seen that a large proportion of all production is based on just three types, namely coal, gas, and petrol.
In 1995, the greatest percentage of energy production was coal, which represented just under a third of total energy. After a decade, this rate went up slightly to 30,93%. The second highest percentage of gas for both years was relatively similar to each other, at 29,63% in 1995 and at 30,31% in 2005. In both years, the smallest proportion of energy was on Other, which accounted for 4,90% in 1996. In 2005, this figure rose to 9,10%. Moving to a nuclear, this rate increased by around 4 %, from 6,40% to 10,10%.
