The given pie chart illustrates the major factors contributing to why people came to and left UK in 2007. There are six categories such as definite job, looking for work, formal study, and accompany/ join someone. Overall, immigration was mainly motivated by work and study. Emigration similarly revolved around work but formal study was a least contribution.
In terms of the primary reasons for migration to the UK, definite job makes the greatest contribution accounted for 30%. Followed by formal study with over a quarter of people immigrated for this purpose.
Regarding the decision influence people to moved from UK, definite job and seeking for job opportunity are constitute 29% and 22% respectively. In the contrary with immigration, formal study only make up 4%, a very small number.
In conclusion, employment is the main driver of migration to/from the UK in 2007. Though, formal study is the second reason for immigration but looking for work dominated for emigration.
