Overall, the bookstore underwent some re-adjustments among the sections’ position and size. Besides, a coffee counter and some table and chair sets were added to the store to serve readers.
Regarding the surroundings of the bookstore, the long fiction bookshelf on the left side of the old layout is now shortened by half, providing space for the shelves that contain cookery, art, and hobbies books. Furthermore, the fiction section on the northside is replaced by the non-fiction one, while the room for the old non-fiction shelf is used for setting up a coffee counter. However, the service desk as well as the entrance of the bookshop remains unchanged through time.
Concerning the centre of the bookstore, while the 2000 one’s core space was used for providing different bookshelves, the present version is upgraded with some tables and chairs, allowing readers to sit when reading. Meanwhile, the new books table and the travel book section underwent no re-arrangements of position.
In addition, the size of cookery, hobbies, and art book sections is now smaller than in 2000, with the most dramatic miniaturization belonging to the art bookshelf. In contrast, the section for travel books is expanded, implying that it is more popular than other types of book at the moment.
