The maps depict the evolution of Grande Park from 1920 to the present day. Over this timeframe, the park’s layout has undergone significant transformations, with the main entrances being the only constants.
In 1920, the park featured two rose gardens flanking the north entrance, while the south entrance was positioned between a glasshouse and another rose garden. A central fountain adorned the park, with a musician’s stage situated to its west. Moreover, five seating areas scattered throughout, and a pond for water plants was located in the northeast corner.
Furthermore, presently, the park has undergone substantial modifications. the central fountain has been replaced by a rose garden, surrounded by seating areas. Moreover, a cafe now occupies the space once occupied by one of the rose gardens near the north entrance. Additionally, the former pond has been transformed into a children’s playground adjacent to the rose garden. The glasshouse has been replaced by a water feature in the southeast corner. An amphitheater for concerts now stands on the west side, taking the place of the musician’s stage. Lastly, an underground car park entrance has been added near the water feature.
