The provided pie chart illustrates the proportion of UK tourists who travelled to Spain between 1983 and 2003.
Overall, UK tourists aged 35-54 years old were predominant in both years. In addition, the proportion of Bristish in the 0-24 years old and 55+ age groups increased over the twenty years period.
In 1983, the percentage of UK visitors to Spain was aged between 55-54, accounting for 50% of five age blackets, which was more than twice of those age 21-34 (20%). This was followed by the 55+ age, making up 16% of the total tourists. Meanwhile, two the yougest age groups, including 15 and 16-24 years old, accounting for 10% and 4%, respectively.
By 2003, although the proportion of 35-44 years old had decreased sharply to 35%, this age bracket remained the highest. The 25-34 brackets also declined but at a lower level, at 12%. In constrast, the 55+ group rose to just over one-quarter of the total visitors, while the youngest age group reached the same percentage as the 25-34 group. Notably, the 16-14 bracket increased significantly, which nearly quadruple to 15%.
