The maps compare the evolution of docks in a particular place in 1980 and today.
Overall, it looks like it was a commercial area in 1980 with three mixed-sized warehouses, cranes, and cargo ships. It is also clear that docks today transformed from industrial places into recreational areas.
In 1980, docks used to include three L-shaped warehouses located in the southern and northern parts of a map. Similarly, three cranes designed to load and unload heavy items stood next to each of these warehouses. Moreover, there were 7 cargo ships differed by size, namely large, middle, and small-sized ships.
Regarding the changes made today, three old cranes were removed today and have given way to some buildings, like the music club and hotel building. The music club was built between two warehouses arranged in the northern part of a map by replacing a crane. Those warehouses next to the music club transformed into shopping center and children’s play area. Moreover, ships have been removed, and only one of them is still in use, but it serves for the museum.
In terms of changes in the northern part of a map, the only warehouse turned into a restaurant. Hotel building and eco-friendly park constructed next to that warehouse. It is also worth mentioning that the bridge has been built on the river to help people to get to a desired part of an entertainment area. Finally, a special barrier was built in the eastern part of a river to prevent damage from potential flooding.
