Dear Sandra,
I hope this letter finds you well. Your brother told me you were having thoughts about spending a year studying abroad as part of your university course. I did this not too long ago, and I am very much happy to share my experience with you.
I studied in Benin Republic. It is a country in West Africa and one of Nigeria’s closest neighbours. It is a Francophone country although some are the citizens are able to understand English.
I learnt about the country’s rich history particularly the Dahomey women. They are a great part of Benin Republic’s culture as there is a large park located in the city center which tells their story. The site is a well-known tourist attraction as it attracts visitors from near and far.
My time over there was very helpful as I was able to learn how to read and write in French and also hold basic communication. I had a French exam to write so I needed an environment where I could assimilate quickly.
I hope you also have a great time over there too. Send my regards to your brother.
Yours sincerely,
Neso.
