The provided maps illustrate how a shopping center called Happy Valley had changed from 1982 to 2012.
Overall, there are several significant changes, with the most remarkable one being the increase in the number of artificial buildings. In addition, the removal of trees around the building is also worth mentioning. The place can be divided into two main areas, which is the center square and the land outside of it.
Regarding the outside area, in 1982, surrounding the shopping center were mostly trees and a lake, which was in the top-left corner. However, in 2012, the lake was replaced by a furniture retail, which was connected to the center square, and the trees in the right border of the map were chopped down to make way for an expansion of the center. Similarly, a road, which used to stay to the bottom of the lake, and the trees in the bottom-left corner saw a destruction. In 2012, a parking lot was erected in their place.
In terms of the square in the center, there were a coffee shop and a food store in the top border in 1982, but a sports store and an electronics store replaced them in 2012. A lobby area in the left border was removed. Meanwhile, under it, toilets, an elevator to 2nd floor, as well as an entertainment area staying in the middle of the shopping center, remained in 2012. Furthermore, a sports store, an electronics store, and a furniture store used to be in the right border, but they were all replaced by a themed restaurants and a food store
