The given map describes the differences of the Happy Valley Shopping Center in 1982 and 2012.
Overall, the building was expanded to the west and east. A parking lot, some new restaurants were added and places like coffee shop, lobby area and natural stuff were removed. The size of food store was reduced and the position of some other features were transferred to another places.
After 30 years, on the western side of the shopping center, the entrance was transferred and replaced with the lobby area to create more spaces, while the coffee shop in the corner was removed to make way for a new room, that was built and attached to the building. Towards the east of the map, this places initially had a row that containing three shops is sports store, an electronics store and a furniture store These shop were then relocated to different places whereas the row was divided into four parts, one of which became themed restaurants. In 2012, the sports stores and the electronics store were put next to each other on the northern side of the building, while the food store was put in the southeast corner. At present, the furniture retail took the additional room to continue its business. Although some facilities like toilets, elevators and entertainment places were remained in the same positions, they were slightly bigger than their previous size.
Outside the building, due to the upgrades, the lake was covered by the additional room. Moreover, the architects added a new parking lot because the old road was no longer suitable for customers’ vehicles, and some trees disappeared after these changes.
