The given diagram is a pictorial representation of rainwater harvesting and how the same is used for drinking purpose in Australian town.
Overall, the process has about five steps which includes rainwater collection, filtration of water, storage, chemical treatment and then supplying to homes as potable water.
The first step involves harvesting of rainwater. The water that hits on the roof is collected with the help of long pipes. The collected water is then filtered with the help of a water filter. After the filtration process, the water is stored in huge tanks for further treatments.
The water which is stored in tanks are then treated in another tank. After the treatment, chemicals are added for the removal of all biological hazards which might present in the filtered water. After the chemical treatment, the water is supplied to each and every home in the Australian town for drinking purpose. And the people can obtain the water as tap water.
