The diagram illustrate how an Australian town collected rainwater to use as drinking water.
Overall, rainwater harvesting process includes several steps like rain drops collected from houses and then it passes through water filter into storage tank where is treated with chemicals to make fit for human use.
Initially, rain which falls on rooftop is collected by gutter, and then all water is passes through drain pipe. Then all drain pipes are connected to main pipe. Additionally, it goes to water filter where dust and physical particle are separated from water with the use of filter. After that filtered water stored into storage tank. In next stage, water is transferred into water treatment tank.In this stage chemicals are used for cleaning and purification of water. when water is ready for drinking use it travels along pipes that lead back to houses in town where people can use the water for daily consumption. Now it is ready for human use.
