The given line graph illustrates the ratio of unemployment and people ( in thousands) relocating to other country from Ireland in three decades ( 1988 – 2008) .
Overall, the unemploument levels and people moving to other countries, both has decreased over the time with significant decrease of people relocating.
In 1988, the 60% of the population was not working. It was the highest rate of unemployement recorded till date. It got deareaced to 55% in 1992 after the fluctuation. It started decreasing gradually to reach its minimum in the year of 2000 with just 25%. The rate remained unchanged for next 4 years till 2004. The rate slightly rose to around 28% tiill the year 2008.
Number of People shifting to other countries was also at its peak in the year 1988 with 60,000 people. It slightly decreased to 55,000 in count in 1990. Furthermore, it rapidly decreased ,while it also surpassed the unemployment rate after 1990 and decreased to 35,000 migrants. After the fluctuation it there was less number of people relocating and it reached at its minimum in 2002 which was also the minimym for the rate of people not working. It number of people leaving the country started moving again just after the minimum and aggressively increased to 50,000 in the year 2008.
