I am writing to confess in something horrible that has happened. Remember the JBL Bluetooth speaker that I borrowed from you to play jazz at my girlfriend’s birthday party?

Yeah, so, by complete accident, I dropped it into my bathtub filled with water and it didn’t survive the tragedy. Whenever I try to turn the speaker on, I can hear the remaining water bubbling inside. I feel absolutely mortified. My hands are shaking as I am typing this email.

I want you to know that I am terribly sorry. I know that it was dear to your heart and recently purchased, too.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford to buy you an identical speaker at the moment. Is there a possibility that we find a compromise? I could potentially buy a different, more budget-friendly one.
