Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter to address a few points in an article published this week about Mrs. Jessie Manoharan in your Sakaal newsletter.
I am the daughter of Mrs. Jessie Manoharan, who is a well-known retired Maths teacher in the local school founded by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. There are a few i naccuracies mentioned that I would like to be corrected in the article regarding her prior work and birthdate.
The article mentioned that she was a teacher in Chennai prior to joining the PES school, which is incorrect. She worked in a girls’ orphanage in Chennai as a warden, taking responsibility for the girls’ care and supervision, and was also involved in teaching and training them for mainstream education and life. Another point I would like to clarify is that she was born in 1956, not 1966.
I hope that you will kindly take these corrections into account in your publication. Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
L Manoharan
