The bar graph illustrates the number of telephone calls taken in billions, from three different categories: Local, national and international and mobiles in Australia between The years 2001 and 2008. Where the y-axis represents the number of calls in billions and the x-axis represents the years ranging from 2001 to 2008

Overall, there was a significant reduction in the number of calls taking place of the local category. On the other hand, there was a massive increase in the calls by the other categories especially in the category mobile. In the year 2001, Local was leading and had the most number of calls among all the categories with nearly 72 billion minutes, following up with 37.5 billion minutes from the national and international calls category and at the last with no more than 2 billion minutes from the mobile calls.

In the year 2005, the local calls hit its peak proving to be unmatchable and best fit among its competitors. In this year both the calls also, increased in numbers with 50 billon minutes of national and international calls and 10 billon minutes from the mobile calls. In the year of 2008 local calls started to loose popularity and was left with almost the same number of minutes it started with. On the other hand both national and international and mobile calls had gained a huge popularity and hit 62.5 billion and approximately 48 billon calls respectively.
