Dear manager,

I am John and I am writing this letter regarding the purchase of electrical equipment for my new house.

I am going to buy new house and I want to purchase some new lightings for it. House contains 3 bedrooms, a Hall and a kitchen. I went on your website and browse some of the products which I really like it. Some of them are upcoming which did not show the amount of it. I wanted to know the cost of lights which are solar power which I can use them for my front and back yard. For children’s room, RGB light series was looking good because children can change the colour of light but I want to ask a question, is that LED lights and what is the power consumption for the RGB series.

Some goods are confirm, which are 10W 30 bulbs, main entrance light and 15 amp. extention board. I will collect on upcoming Sunday from your shop at 3 PM.

Thank you,

John

Task Response

The letter addresses the task requirements by stating the electrical goods desired, asking about costs and payment, and explaining collection. However, there are some omissions, such as not explicitly asking about payment methods. To improve, ensure all aspects of the task are clearly and directly addressed.

Coherence & Cohesion

The letter is generally understandable, but the organization could be improved. Consider grouping your requests and questions into separate paragraphs for clarity. For example, dedicate one paragraph to specifying the items you want to purchase and another to asking about costs and payment methods. Also, ensure a smoother flow between sentences by using appropriate transition words and phrases.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there's room for improvement. Try to use more precise and varied language to describe the electrical goods and your requirements. For instance, instead of saying 'Some goods are confirm,' you could say 'I would like to confirm my order for...' Also, consider using more specific terms related to electrical equipment to demonstrate a better command of the topic. Boost vocabulary complexity to elevate the overall score.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The letter contains several grammatical errors that affect clarity. Pay close attention to verb tense consistency (e.g., 'I am going to buy new house' should be 'I am going to buy a new house' or 'I am buying a new house'). Also, ensure correct subject-verb agreement and article usage. Review and correct these errors to improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
