Hi Favour, how have you been? Congratulations!!! I was elated when I read in your letter that you were accepted to my Alma mater to study Medicine. In your letter, you mentioned that you would like my advice concerning where to stay.
Actually, I was staying off campus when I was a student. This was because I didn’t like the rules and regulations of the campus hostels. It was a self contained room with a personal kitchen and restroom. Alternatively, you can decide to live in the school compound if you are comfortable with their rules.
To secure a house in the school, you have to register online about three months before resumption to avoid being told sold out. Another option will be to visit the final year block months before the college closes in order to speak to a room owner about giving you the apartment when they leave.
Concerning speaking to the hostel owners, you have to be very very careful because some of them might want to scam you. Avoid paying anyone personally, all fees should be paid to the institution’s account number.
