Cars that are run by fossil energy should be replaced by those powered by electricity. I agree with this statement as it is environmentally friendly and saves natural resources. However, the scare of these electric cars shutting down midway still stands.
For centuries, cars have been fuelled by fossils such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas. However, due to the advancements in technology, this trend has changed. Now, automobiles are sustained by electrical power, which is derived from solar energy or simply, water or air. It has significantly reduced the prevalence of air pollution. According to recent weather reports, the smog ratio has reduced by 20% over the past 5 years. This has enhanced air quality and cleansed the environment to an extent. Furthermore, it also decreases noise pollution by buffering the engine sounds and gas exhaust rumbles.
Secondly, introducing electricity as a power source also saves natural resources from unnecessary combustion. These resources are a precious asset from our ancestors and are limited in quantity. A recent study published by renowned archaeologists in The Nature has shown a marked increase in the figures of preserved fossils. As new and improved options are now available to drivers, these resources can hence be used with caution and planning, for essential tasks only.
In contrast, it is also a fact that the mileage of cars run on electricity is unpredictable and somewhat worrisome. The battery can drop down and the presence of a charging station is compulsory to power up the car. In addition, the amount of time it takes to recharge the car is also a factor adding to its drawbacks.
To conclude, I would say that although electric cars have their setbacks related to battery charging and power consumption, they are still a reliable alternative to the engines powered by burning fossils, which not only produces noise and releases dangerous gases into the environment but also depletes the precious resources provided to mankind.
