There is a view that fathers should take time off from their workplaces when their children are newly born. I do not agree with this opinion for two main reasons.
One might argue that taking a day off would give them more time to spend with their families. At the same time, they can also relax and reflect on their future lives with their newborn babies. Moreover, during this period, they might do several activities such as buying new clothes, preparing a room for the newborn child, and so forth, while creating many unforgettable memories for fathers. It is indeed a natural desire for most people to have a child, as parenthood is often seen as a meaningful part of life and a source of lasting fulfillment.
Nonetheless, while the things mentioned above are valuable for men, it is important not to stop growing and building their own careers so that later their children themselves can benefit from it. In addition, after working hours, not only can they spend time with their children, but they can also do those activities which are mentioned above. If fathers immediately take time off from their jobs, it could negatively affect their responsibility for the tasks they perform by leaving them suddenly, and it can also decrease their diligence, making their authority fall.
To sum up, fathers should not take short holidays but rather manage their time and spend it with their children after work hours. This would be the most appropriate and perhaps the most obvious way to approach this situation.
