Ambition, the colossal desire for self-achievement and accomplishment, is often lauded as an essential characteristic of modern individuals. From my perspective, being ambitious plays an important role in helping a person to become successful in their life, yet it is not inherently negative or positive.
Firstly, there are some reasons that reinforce the importance of ambition and explain why it should be a desirable quality. Being ambitious is considered as a potential motivator and ensure the productive consistency towards successes. To illustrate, a conspicuous instance in history is Ho Chi Minh, a Vietnamese man who is famous for his will and perseverance to liberate the nation from invaders. Starting as a young boy, for years lasted, he visited many countries with a great purpose that seeking a way to rescue Vietnamese peoples and seize the power back as former. To have a general view, especially with the current society, the life becomes gradually harder, as well as inflation, living cost affordability and the competitive working market increase significantly which require people to be strong enough to overcome these challenges. Consequently, ambition is an indispensable characteristic of a person.
On the other hand, unchecked ambition could lead people to some seductive circumstances. People who don’t have ability to control their movements and will, they can be in the spiral of profit and do anything to benefit themself . Furthermore, a person who has unchecked ambition is possibly in the conspiracy related to illicit and prohibited projects because all they want are merely their benefits. For example, a forest warden, who is responsible for protecting forests and wildlife, for profits, he is in non-compliances and willing to allow thieves and hunters to overexploit trees or hunt animals. I am in the conviction that the jeopardy of this type of ambition will be severe incontrovertibly.
In conclusion, it is sighted that ambition is very important in the journey to get successes. Frankly, being ambitious has both positive and negative effects based on accurate situations. People who have enough wise to identify types of ambition will govern themself and become more successful in the future.
