In the united kingdom, an average child watches television for more than twenty hours in every week and participates in only seven hours of physical activity. A similar pattern can be observed in my country, where children spend a large amount of time on screen, especially mobiles phone and tablets, while their involvement in physical exercise is decreasing.
There are several reasons behind this situation. First, digital devices have become extremely common and affordable. Childrens find cartoons, games and online videos more entertaining than outdoor play. secondly many parents have busy work schedules, so they allowtheir children to use screens for convenience. In addition, students face heavy academic pressure. After school they attend coaching classes and complete homework, leaving very little time for sports or outdoor activities. Another important reason is the lack of safe playgrounds in many areas, especially in big cities.
To solve this problem, a joint effort is required. Parents should set clear limits on screen time and encourage children to engage in physical activities every day. School must organise regular sports sessions and ensure that every child participates. The government can also contribute by developing public parks, sports grounds and community centres where children play safely. Awareness compaigns can help families understand the benefits of exercise and the risk of excessive screen time.
In conclusion, execessive use of digital devices and limited physical activity have become common problems in my country. With proper guidance, strong rules and better facilities understand the benefits of exercise, this unhealthy trend can be reduced effectively.
