Many of us enjoy the possibility of buying whatever we want just round the corner. However, only a few of us realise that this convenience of global consumerism causes enormous damage to the natural environment. This essay will discuss its causes and suggest ways how to salvage the environment.
To start with, because of the consumption of more product, the amount of resources used increases in proportion. For example, with need of more paper and furniture, the extra trees are being used, which leads to deforestation. Similarly, bigger scale of production causes more emissions. Take the same example, besides deforestation itself, it creates more pollution. Firstly, machines that cut trees polluted the local area with a lot of fumes. And secondly, during the process of furniture creation many toxins are produced.
These issues are enormous problems for our environment, but I would give some ways to solve them. Such as recycling for example. It is supposed to develop, because only with proper disposing of trash we can achieve improvements in ecology. Meanwhile, not less important is implementing eco-standards. Providing fines for not following environmental regulations not only for factories and enterprises, but for people as well. It is vital to punish thrown out rubbish on the street, and not only for huge pollution by plants. Because if we want to change attitude to global contamination we need to start from small things.
In general, the rise in production of consumer goods leads to vast harm in our surroundings that not many people can realize.
