When certain acts or people are involved in or related to a crime, they are termed as criminal. Criminal is a popular term used for a person who has committed a crime or has been legally convicted of a crime. Some people think believe that there should be fixed punishment for each type of crime as people will not stop committing a crime if there are no consequences or no fixed consequences while others think that the circumstances of an individual crime and the motivation for committing it, should always be taken into account when deciding on a punishment as people might have committed a crime due to various compulsions or due to many other problems as well. However, I think that there should be fixed punishment to the people who commit crimes.
Some people think believe that there should be fixed punishment for each type of crime as people will not hesitate to commit a crime if there are no fixed consequences and will keep on doing it instead of trying to improve. If once a person is set free without any consequences faced after committing a crime, the person will have no guilt and will not hesitate other times as well. For example if a man has stolen money from someone and later was sett free without any punishments they will not hesitate to do the same thing again and again therefore some people think that there should be fixed punishments for each types of crimes.
On the other hand some people argue that the circumstances of an individual crime and the motivation for committing it, should always be taken into account when deciding on a punishment as people do not commit any crimes without any problem or compulsion. People mostly commit crimes when they see no other options and such people should be understood as well. Example given if a person has a child to feed but has no money to do so and had no option but to steal little amount of money to feed the child he must be understood and forgiven with less consequences or even no consequences. Therefore some people think criminal’s circumstances and motivation for committing should also be considered while punishing them.
As of my opinion, I think that there must be a fixed punishment to each types of crime as different people have different problems in their life and instead of finding a better and positive solutions to solve the problem people will commit a crime and make it seem like they had no other solutions to bear less consequences. In my point of view every problems can be solved positively so why solve it illegally when you can solve it efficiently and legally. People will be demotivated to commit crimes if there are fixed punishment and will think many times before doing or being connected with any type of illegal activities.
Summing up everything some people think there might be fixed punishments to each type of crime as people will not hesitate to commit crimes if there are no specific punishments while others think people’s circumstances and the motivation for committing crime, should always be taken into account when deciding on a punishment as people may have problems and different compulsions to commit it. But as of my opinion I think there should be a fixed punishments to each crime as people will try to find better solutions instead of committing any illegal act
