Band 7+: As major cities around the world are growing, so are their problems. What are these problems for young people living in cities? What are possible solutions for these problems?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It has become increasingly common for capital cities to have social and economic problems affecting young people. While this situation can be attributed to a number of factors, several measures can be taken to mitigate this issue.

One contributing factor to young people is the rising cost of living. This is because rent, food, and transportation are very expensive in metropolitan areas. Many young people cannot afford to live independently or must share overcrowded spaces, particularly students and young workers. For example, in most countries, living costs tend to be higher in urban areas compared to rural areas. Unemployment is another reason why young people struggle to live in central areas. As the population of urban areas continues to grow, the unemployment rates begin to increase, which intensifies competition for jobs. As a result, young people often struggle to find stable, well-paid jobs. Spain can be a good example of this situation, where the proportion of unemployed young people is very high.

However, there are several ways to tackle this problem. One effective measure to address this issue is helping individuals by providing affordable living conditions, offering financial support, and developing better transportation systems. Governments can provide affordable housing programs and rent control, offer financial support or subsidies for students and young workers, and develop better public transport to reduce living costs in central areas. Another solution, which complements this approach is providing more employment opportunities for young people. This can be achieved by creating more job opportunities through investment and business support and providing training programs, internships, and courses.

In conclusion, overpopulation in urban areas is the major problems of young people; however, through targeted efforts such as creating more job opportunities and providing more affordable housing programs, governments can create more job opportunities and providing more affordable housing programs, governments can create lasting positive change.
