In many countries, the proportion of teenagers is relatively larger than that of older people recently. I believe that there are more benefits to this than its drawbacks and my point of view regarding this are discussed below.
To begin, there are some advantages when a country has more youthful population than old age group. Firstly, young people are the driving force of economy. Young adults are more productive and innovative to start a business model that leads to grow economy. Secondly, in term of physical vigor, young people are more healthier and need less healthcare than older people. Currently, there are not many jobs required heavy physical due to technology, robots, but they forced employees being creative, flexible and resilient. Therefore, young people have more ability to meet these requirement.
On the other hand, a high population of young adults have some negative consequences. On of the main disadvantages is the unemployment rate. It will be more competitive among young people when applying to a same position. Many of them after being rejected become unemployed and that is waste of high quality resources of the countries. Another disadvantage is that having more young adults could lead to lack of professionals in the society. Most of young people are fresh graduate or 1-2 year experienced people, so they might not do some jobs that requires particular level of education as well as experiences. For example, it takes around 10 years to study in university to become a qualified doctors, so that my be not able to young people to do this.
In conclusion, there are both advantages and disadvantages about this view, I think that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. However, countries should not consider older people as a burden of community, they should be taken after and treated equally as young adults.
